Tame Impala - Let It Happen

Tame Impala have shared the first track to their new album, not announced but due out later this year. It’s a mind-blowing psychedelic-rock tune spanning nearly 8 minutes, with rolling, punching drum kits, synths, and lead vocals that are truly awe-inspiring.

The outro cuts off intentionally, likely to signal a transition in the album, but the single itself is certainly amazing. It reminds me of psychedelic indie contemporaries Animal Collective and MGMT.

2012’s Lonerism was a delight, and I’m sure their follow-up will also be a stunner. The band also shared today a bunch of North American tour dates, including Cleveland in early June! Check them out, as well as the new song, via Pitchfork.
