The Collapse of The Morning Benders

Yours Truly Presents: The Morning Benders Excuses” from Yours Truly on Vimeo.

I loved The Morning Benders. They made beautiful music! Then, in 2012 the band changed their name to POP ETC and released a terrible self-titled album.

I really miss their old sound! The Morning Benders had a song called Excuses, and I swear it’s still one of my favorite songs. The Yours Truly session above highlights how the band was influenced by Phil Spektor, who developed the Wall of Sound” recording technique in the 1950s and 60s. It’s a must-watch!

When they released POP ETC, I was very disappointed. This review on iTunes sums up my feelings exactly:

I hope their future endeavors are brighter!
