Modern Vampires of the City is slated for release in less than two weeks on XL Recordings. I can’t wait to share my thoughts on this new album!
Another interview from the band popped up on NPR recently, and it’s definitely worth taking a look. Vampire Weekend discuss inspirations like dancehall, hip-hop, and smooth jazz. There’s even a short clip of “Hudson”!
“We’re kind of obsessed with quality control, but that also means that every song needs to have its own kind of voice and vibe. There can’t really be any repetition on the record so there are going to be mellow moments and there have to be energetic moments too to fill out the world of the record,” says lead singer Ezra Koenig.
You can pre-order Modern Vampires of the City on iTunes (digital) or Amazon (CD)! The album will arrive May 14.
