Beautiful read on The FADER this afternoon. Really excited for the upcoming LP from Perfume Genius!
New MusicNetflix just released Abstract: The Art of Design, and it looks very inspiring! The first episode features Berlin-based illustrator Christoph Niemann. I can’t wait to watch the entire season!

Really digging this new song from Real Estate! The new album (announced today) also includes “White Light,” a track I’ve been waiting to hear for literal ages. This one has crisp melodies and sounds like a great opener to the record. I can’t wait for more dreamy rock goodness from Real Estate!
New MusicIf you aren’t writing, this article lists many great reasons why you should be. I believe design and writing go hand-in-hand, and I know for one practicing this blog has helped me reflect on my interests and become a better designer in the process.
Creativity WritingI don’t think there is a dull moment on this record by Montreal-based producer Kaytranada. Because he pulls from many different genres and vocalists, the songs are all unique and each have a rich, distinct atmosphere. At the same time, the album sounds cohesive—and it’s really a delight on repeat plays. I enjoy this album for how much style it packs in just under an hour.
As one of many who eagerly anticipated the return of Frank Ocean, I feel that his latest release Blonde did not disappoint. The solo album is interwoven with collaborators of all sorts, from Beyoncé on “Pink + White” to Rostam Batmanglij helping out on one of my favorite indie tracks of the year, “Ivy”. Honestly, if you haven’t heard this album by now, what are you doing reading this?
I have to admit I wasn’t the biggest fan of Hamilton’s voice when I first heard this release. It definitely grew on me, however, and now this album ranks in my top 3 for 2016. I Had a Dream That You Were Mine is authentic indie rock, with beautiful songwriting and really great instrumentation. The songs are nostalgic yet fresh, like something you’ve never quite heard before.
